I started this resource based on my own experience as a very lost student back when I did my bachelor of arts, and also based on my experiences working with students as a university staff member, instructor, and researcher. I've spoken to many students who couldn't find the answers to their questions, and I want to help. I've met so many students who had the brains, drive and enthusiasm to succeed at university - but didn't always have a clear idea of what that path looked like or where it led.
I've spent most of the last 20 years at university. I finished my BA in 2005, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in counselling and human development in 2014, a Masters of Education in 2016, and I'm currently a PhD student studying higher education.
Within that, I have over 15 years of experience working in academic advising, admissions, policy, curriculum and many other areas, and I've also been teaching business courses for several years.
My experiences led me to start ChooseYourUni as a resource for new and soon-to-be university students. This site will provide you with some of the helpful questions to ask and tools to explore the possibilities so you can make informed decisions about university.
I work with students 1:1 and in groups, as well as via online courses. I’m also open to collaborations and partnerships with educators and other groups, and media requests! Please reach out.
